Room Remodel

So I found a new website with some amazing ideas. I have already put some into action and began a room remodel. Yep that's right! Here is the first of many to come. First I will begin with the before picture of the room.

What You’ll Need:
1. contact paper, (this is for lining drawers, you can find it at hardware or drug stores)
2. ruler
3. scissors or exacto

Instructions:
1. measure your window panes.
2. mark your dimensions on the contact paper and cut out your rectangles. i recommend using a ruler and an exacto blade, but if you draw a clean line and cut neatly with scissors that works as well.
3. carefully peel the paper back from the top of the film and place on the window pane. slowly pull the paper down and smooth down the contact paper with a piece of paper.

Here is the close up of the windows I worked on.

Below is the contact paper I used. I found it at Target.
Now for the final window look.
You can find the orginal project at
I am looking forward to the final look with the room put back together. I know it will look great and will be a great place to hang out this summer.

Another project is this 3D Snowflake/Flower.

Keep on Keeping on

So my attempt at losing weight has come up short to say the least. The first week I ended up gaining two pounds. I would have to say most of it has been because of my attitude and my lost of motivation. I thought adding to the value of money for China would increase my drive but it has not. So this week I am starting on a positive note. I am going to take the week by storm. With my half-marathon less then a month away I must force myself to get out and run. So far this week I have done well with; Sunday: 3 miles, Monday: 4 miles, Tuesday: 4 miles. The week has only began so I hope to do more the rest of the week. Hopefully this will help jump start my motivation!!

All I can do is just keep on keeping on!

The race is on...

So today start the first day of the race to get healthy and to win some money for China. In my outlook every penny matters. Therefore I made a little bet with my mother. The bet you may ask... well it is who can lose the largest percentage of weight by May 1st. If I win I get $500 to spend on my trip to China. If I lose I can't go to Haiti this year. So in order to earn money for China and also be able to go to Haiti I must fight now and get rid of this unwanted weight. I take on the challenge with hopeful outlooks but I know it will be quite hard. I mean how can someone restrict the temptation of cheese cake as well as 12 boxes of girl scout cookies in your house?? Yes I know very tempting. In order to complete this task I will need your help and encouragement along the way. I will post once a week about the progress and my weekly goals.

Week Goals
 - Run a total of 12 miles
 - Take daily Vitamins
 - Drink 8 glasses of water a day

Snow Days and French Crepes

This last week we were able to have two days off because of a snow/ice storm. It was nice to hang out and get some work around the house done. When I have nothing to do in the mornings I love to cook breakfast. This week I tried something new. Homemade crepes! They were really good. Try them yourself....

1 1/2 cup flour
1 egg
2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil

Mix everything in a bowl. Then using a med/low heat skillet pour 1/4 cup batter into the pan. Making it paper thin.Once it is done fill it with what ever you would like. I mixed berries and cream cheese together to fill mine.

Happy Cooking...

Here comes the sun...

Many days have past but the hurt and pain in my heart still holds on tight. 'Here Comes The Sun' by the Beatles was the first song we listen to leaving the accident. This song will always remind me of you.

So, here's to an amazing women who lived her life enjoying every second. I love you Paige.

Fire Starters

Growing up we had a wood burning fire place. I just loved starting the fire and warming up next to it. There is just something about getting lost in the fire. Now as I get older I still remember those days. This last August I moved into a house with a couple of friends. One of the plus's about the house is that we have a fireplace. In the last month we have began using it and it has been amazing. Starting the fire however has been a pain. So tonight I made fire starters. They are really easy to make and are made of used egg cartons, lent, and candle wax. The first step is the place the lent into the egg carton. They cuts wax into small pieces and place in an old tin can on the stove. Melt wax. When wax is melted pour wax over lent. Fill till full. Let cool. Then you use one to two parts to start the fire. You don't even need paper. Works amazing and would recommend to anyone. Enjoy and happy warmth to each of you.
